Whitsunday Island Camping Connection Pty Ltd, operates “SCAMPER” a 10m aluminum barge, surveyed to carry up to 34 passengers plus luggage and is designed to run up on the beach and drop campers/gear at their chosen National Park camp site.
SCAMPER is a high speed vessel, with a shallow draft and excellent maneuverability.
We offer transfers to independent travelers with the opportunity to visit and enjoy the Whitsunday Islands National Park camp sites at their own pace.
We operate 7 days per week (with some closure periods for Maintenance) from the water front at SHUTE HARBOUR, where SCAMPER is moored and our departure shed is located.
Shute Harbour is located approx 9 kms south east of Airlie Beach.
How to get there:
BUS: There is a regular and reliable bus service that goes through Airlie Beach every half hour to Shute Harbour this is approximately a 10 to 15 minute trip.
CAR: The main road that brings you into Airlie Beach is Shute Harbour Road this passes through Airlie Beach and on to Shute Harbour.
There is the council cark park on the water front and on top of the hill, these are open parks, while the construction and redevelopment of Shute Harbour is underway there is no charge for car parking at Shute Harbour. security does patrol at night.
