Flying into the Whitsundays

When bookings flights, with either Jet Star or Virgin there are 2 options where you can arrive:
Hamilton Island Airport – Hamilton Island

Or

Whitsunday Coast Airport –(Proserpine – mainland)

If arriving at Hamilton Island you will need to catch one of the big ferries to the mainland the cost is $49pp one way with Fantasea Cruises and $60pp one way with Cruise Whitsunday – approx ½ hour travel to the mainland.

If arriving at Whitsunday Coast Airport – Proserpine on the mainland  you will need to catch a bus with Whitsunday Transit or a shared taxi for $15 per person one way into Airlie Beach – approx 45mins travel

Ideally we prefer to have people departing and arriving at Shute Harbour, however,
Whitsunday Island Camping Connection – Scamper, can do pick ups from Hamilton Island and take you direct to your camp site, this will depend on a number of factors aligning with our run that day ie:- flight times, tides and our other movements that day, there is an additional cost to do a pick up or drop off at Hamilton Island Airport, this includes per person access fees payable to Hamilton Island.  This is best discussed for each different enquiry – we do not run in competition with the Ferries
